March
Another busy month has whizzed by and here we are in March. More grey skies and rain but this at least gave me a chance to read Book No. 3
I've only seen comedian Jen Brister on TV but she's pretty funny so thought I'd give this a go - it's a great tale about the journey she and her partner have been on to become parents and life with their twin boys.
This led me to thinking about another bucket list task... going to a comedy gig. I checked the internet, only to discover than Jen was just about to sell out of tickets for her upcoming tour - couldn't get any tickets for anywhere further South than Edinburgh so started looking elsewhere when.... they released additional dates so I got in there quick and am now going to see her at Alexandra Palace in June! Box tick :)
Didn't rest on my laurels totally after this and decided to tick off another one by ordering my DNA Heritage test. Have wanted to do this for a while now - thought it was about time that I checked to see if the old family stories about Irish relatives are true! So bit the bullet and went on the Ancestry DNA website who happened to have a sale (bonus!), went ahead and ordered it! It came a few days later so I performed my duty by spitting in a tube and sent it off! It does take a fair while to come back so not expecting the results until May... sit tight and watch this space!
You do get 3 months free access to the Ancestry website to research your family tree so have been having some fun with that and finding out a few good family secrets and a couple of really sad ones too. I've discovered a great great grandmother spending time in the Workhouse as a child and losing her mother at a young age and another branch of the family where my poor great great great grandmother died in a lunatic asylum! Clearly those genes are still floating around somewhere!
